Can a judge do this to me?

i packed my kids up and left my husband in mississippi and moved back to california after being abused and unhappy for too many yrs. my kids are 2 yrs and 4 yrs old. as soon as i got to california i filed for a legal separation and a restraining order. this was in oct 2008. i have to be a resident of cali for 6 mo. before i can file divorce. well, he beat me to it and filed for divorce in mississippi and i have a court date april 6th. i am scared out of my mind that dispite a restraining order here in california, the mississippi judge can tell me to hand over my kids to him and that would absolutely kill me. can a mississippi judge ignore a california order of protection or do they have to uphold the order and work around it? please help me.
