Does this essay sound okay? Racism in the 1930’s?
I am not a writer nor can I edit someone elses essay. But from the facts that you have here, you have two errors that I saw first hand. First, you said that racism reached it's peak in the 1930s. This is untrue. The peak of racism was in 1870s and 1880s and then again in the 1960s. Actually, in the 1930s racism was getting a little lower because it was the years between two big wars in which much of the military was already desegregated and therefore many people were already accustomed to it all. And secondly, the last thing you said. "no longer are the African Americans treated unequally". By saying this, you are proving a lot of what you saying in your essay. This naive to think that racism is no longer upon us. The KKK is still out there and there are definitely even still racist gerrymandering when census is taken. But most of the time, racism is seen as dirty looks, unfair practices or just complete disrespect. But it is still alive and ugly today.
