Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire dress robes debate!?

Why does the movie version have dress robes that look like tuxedo and dresses when the book says it looked like regular robes? That was a disappointment, the movie version of Yule Ball? Do you like the book or movie version of that party better? And Harry's dress robes were black, not green!
