I just took home twins from the hospital. They are an Amish family and I drove them to their home. I'm worrie?
I'm worried for her. I've heard that some Amish men will have with thier wives right after birth. She did not seem happy at all and didn't speak. He also made her sit in the back of my van meaning she had to climb over a seat to get back there. While he rode in the front! I feel so bad for this poor woman. I know that in the Amish tradition women are not considered as "good" as men. I'm just glad the twins were boys so they don't have to go through this later in life. Should I have said something? I kept telling her to call if she needed anything. Anything at all. (There is a pay phone down the road) I wish I could have stayed to help. I changed the babies cloths and changed thier diapers before I left. I wish I could help more but he seemed to want me out of the house. It was really uncomfortable. Do you think I should have made him sit in the back? I feel aweful having had a child myself there is no way I would have sat in the back like that. Am i horrible for not saying anything?
