If not Marfan's syndrome, what could it be?

I visited a cardiologist yesterday, who told me that I had a dilated aortic valve. But he says not to take the echocardiogram test too seriously and to visit the geneticist and opthamologist. If the geneticist says no, and the opthamologist says yes OR no, what could explain the findings? Abnormally small valve?
