My kitchens' back splash for the oven?

I'm renovating my kitchen and I chose a design to use as my back splash. My brother suggests to put a stainless stain sheet behind the oven as the back splash for it will be easy to clean. I have a small kitchen and I'm not sure if I want to put stainless steel. Is it a good idea?
