Did Led Zeppelin intentionally backmask satanic messages in "Stairway to Heaven"?

There is a lot of speculation as to whether Led Zeppelin backmasked in their song "Stairway to Heaven". According to some, if the verse ("If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now") is played backwards, it reveals hidden satanic messages. I love Led Zeppelin, and I esspecially love "Stairway to Heaven". Is there any truth to these claims of backmasking?
