Writing teacher... help with similes.?
I'll be happy to give it a try, but suspect I'll be too subjective, & usually prefer metaphors. Here goes! Television--fantasy; Summer-golden; Sleep--peaceful; Moon--mysterious; Night--dark velvet; Day--New, to enjoy; School--friends & learning; Dream--magic world; Time--quick as a wink or long as you think; Red--warm & glowing; Fire--seeing images in flames; Friendship--comforting treasure; Love--joyous & giving; Ocean--vast; Hands--touching & being creative; Toes--fun to walk barefoot; Anger--an emotion to avoid. Now I KNOW these are all over the lot, but I think this is a grand idea to determine how "creative" kids are. They can be amazing! I once had a sixth grade cl draw pictures of what they "saw" in my mcript of a children's book. Some saw much more than was even there. Some were scared, & many laughed & tried to imagine where it might go from there. GREAT experience. This is the best I can do! Good luck!
