Do you find this mean?

at the highschool in town, there is a couple. for prom one wanted to wear a tux and the other wanted to wear a dress...i find it mean that the school wouldn't let either one of them wear a tux...they said its not "lady-like" do you find this mean?.....i mean, what if i want to wear a tux when i go to prom with my girlfriend?they wouldn't let me.....
