Parents: How do you feel about big birthday bashes? Do you like them or hate them?

Omg, my sons is going to be epic every year! He was born on halloween (how cool of a birthday is that!?) so it'll be a costume party with trick or treating afterwards. I wish that i could get presents and then a huge bag of candy afterwards on my birthday lol. But with a birthday falling on that particular day how are you NOT gonna throw a bash every year? =)
